Celebrating Creativity and Collaboration
At Willow Bank Primary School, fostering creativity and collaboration is at the heart of our community. This was exemplified during our INSET day where our staff came together for a special collaborative art project. This unique initiative focused on creating vibrant canvases to honour our four House Champions: David Attenborough, Stephen Hawking, Malala Yousafzai, and Katherine Johnson.
Led by local artist Amy Bairstow, the day was a blend of artistic exploration and teamwork. Amy guided our staff through a variety of innovative drawing and painting techniques, encouraging everyone to experiment and embrace their creative sides! Techniques ranged from detailed line work to bold, expressive colours, and included relief work to add texture and depth to the canvases.
Each team was tasked with capturing the spirit and achievements of their assigned House Champion, resulting in four stunning artworks that now grace our KS1 corridor. These pieces not only celebrate the individuals they represent but also the collaborative effort and creativity of our staff.
This collaborative art project is a testament to the power of teamwork and the importance of celebrating diverse contributions within our school community. The completed canvases serve as daily inspirations for our children, reminding them of the values and achievements embodied by our House Champions.
